The T-Mobile G1 with Google

The T-Mobile G1, designed by HTC, was the world's first Android-powered mobile phone. It had in an exclusive partnership with Google.

The G1 combined full touch-screen functionality and a QWERTY keyboard with a mobile Web experience that included Google services such as Google Maps with StreetView, Gmail, and YouTube. It also included a 3.2 MP camera with auto focus, a music player that supported a wide variety of formats and a 1GB Micro SD card (expandable to 8GB).

Music Player

Amazon's MP3 music store is pre-loaded on the T-Mobile G1. Users are able to search, download, buy and play music from Amazon MP3, which offers over 6 million songs from all 4 major music labels (Warner Music Group, EMI, Sony BMG & Universal Music Group) as well as thousands of independent labels.

Downloading music from Amazon MP3 using the G1 requires a Wi-Fi connection but browsing, listening to samples and buying MP3s can be done wherever customers are connected to the T-Mobile network. Downloaded MP3s can be played anytime on the T-Mobile G1, PCs, Macs or any other MP3 music player.

I heard about this from GeekBrief. Android developer Luke Hutchison introduced a hack enabling multi-touch on the G1. You can read about it on Luke's blog.
